ISRO has delayed the launch by three minutes at 9.52 a.m. IST on June 30 due to the probability of space debris movement.
WHAT IS PSLV-C23?
The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle,usually known by its abbreviation PSLV is the first operational launch vehicle of ISRO. PSLV is capable of launching 1600 kg satellites in 620 km sun-synchronous polar orbit and 1050 kg satellite in geosynchronous transfer orbit.
India's PSLV C23 will launch the several satellites on this mission including SPOT-7, NLS-7.1 (CanX-4), NLS-7.2 (CanX-5) and AISat.
SPOT-7= FRANCE
SPOT-7 is an Earth observing satellite, similar to Indian Remote Sensing System (IRSS).
WHY IT WAS IN NEWS?
The Launch Authorisation Board (LAB), which met on Friday at Sriharikota, cleared the launch, paving the way for the start of the countdown.
The launch, originally fixed at 9.49 a.m. IST on June 30, has been rescheduled for 9.52 a.m. due to the probability of space debris movement during the launch window.
