Magazines of Tamil Nadu
1. It is the Christians who pioneered the magazine industry. The first Tamil monthly magazine ‘Tamizh Paththirikai’ was published by the Christian litererical society in 1831.
2. G.Subramanya Iyer, who has the epithet ‘Father of Tamil Magazine World’ has published the weekly ‘Swadeshamithran’ in the year 1882. He has changed its periodicity as daily in 1889.
