Election
Elections Commission :
1. The superintendence, direction and control of the preparation of the electoral rolls for, and the conduct of, all elections to Parliament and to the Legislature of every State and of election to the offices of President and Vice-President held under this Constitution shall be vested in the Election Commission.
2. The Election Commission shall consist of the Chief Election Commissioner and such number of other election Commissioners as the President may fix from time to time.
3. The Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners shall be appointed by the President subject to the laws made by Parliament for that purpose.
4. The Chief Election Commissioner shall be the Chairman of the Commission.  
5. In view of the increasing work lead of the Commission during the general elections to Parliament or State Legislatures, the President may appoint Regional Commissioners after consultations with the Chief Election Commissioner.
6. The conditions of service and tenure of office of the Election Commissioners and Regional Commissioners shall be determined by the President, subject to the provisions of any law made by Parliament.  
7. The chief Election Commissioner shall not be removed from his office except in the like manner and on the like grounds as a judge of the Supreme Court. The service conditions of the Chief election Commissioner shall not be varied to his disadvantage after his appointment.
8. Any Election Commissioner or a Regional Commissioner shall not be removed from office except on the recommendation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
9. The President or the Governor of a State shall make available to the Election Commission such shall as may be necessary for the discharge of its functions. (Art. 324)
